Starting on Monday, March 31 I will helping out as the first Editor at RecruitingBlogs.com.

RecruitingBlogs.com is social network started by Jason Davis. The community has been growing at a good clip in recent months. At 4500 members the site is set for exponential growth. The decision to add an editorial anchor each day is a strategic move designed to add value for the site’s users.

Jason Davis and I first met a couple of years ago when he was involved with Recruiting.com as one of the founders. Recruiting.com was a prototype of sorts for the community being built on RecruitingBlogs.com. Since then we have talked about collaborating on a number of projects. This one promises to be really exciting.

The daily lineup includes a mix of personalities and topics:

Mondays: Mendoza’s Monday Member Showcase: Dave Mendoza talks with one of our members

Tuesdays: Tutorial Tuesday: Teaching something, learning something

Wednesdays: Claudia’s Wednesday Wisdom: Claudia Faust advises on tricky situations, answers members questions

Thursdays: The Recruiting Animal’s Morning After Show: On Wednesdays he barks, on Thursday he bites!

Fridays: TGIS (Thank Goodness, its Sumser!): John Sumser unravels the world of recruiting and puts it back together again

Weekends: That was the week that was: Ami G’s round-up of the week’s group blogs and posts.

Stay tuned, it should be fun!

As part of their Talent Acquisition Learning Track, The Human Capital Institute will be producing an hour-long webcast on February 14th, 2008 from 1:00 – 2:00PM ET. I will be presenting Internet Recruiting 2.0 – The Flow of Information. The webcast is sponsored by job search engine Trovix and is free to join.

From the HCI site:

In the last 15 years the internet has grown exponentially and become a pervasive part of our business and personal lives in the process. Increasingly, the web has become a source of information that would have been impossible to find any other way. In the process, we’ve learned to expect and desire more and more information. Now, as employers we now have access to more data about our potential applicants than ever before. Google searches, social networks, recruiting and information sites have given us a deeper and more detailed talent pool than ever before. Meanwhile, job seekers are using the exact same tools to increase their understanding of positions and potential employers.

How can we get the best use of these new resources? In what ways can we get meaningful information out to our candidates and control any potential negatives? How are job seekers using the internet to locate and research openings? What upcoming trends do we need to stay current on? Join us for this discussion in our first webcast in Internet Recruiting 2.0.

The webcast is approved for 1.5 hours recertification credit towards PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI), and towards HCI’s Human Capital Strategist (HCS) designation.

To register for the event, click here.
